Donald Trump is visibly struck. His survey results have not been as bad as they have been since he took office. US citizens who are worried about the economy in particular are scratching strongly at the “winning image” of the US president. The cooling of the US economy is directly attributed to Trump. He started a trade war. And therefore it is probably no coincidence that Trump fired the ultra-hardliner John Bolton yesterday! What does this mean for the markets? Trump could now take a softer course in the trade war and in foreign policy as a whole in order to improve his chances of re-election in 2020. His focus should now be on the economy, because a recession would be the K.O. for the US president…
