Donald Trump made a big deal in the trade war on Friday, which he calls “Phase 1”. Further talks will be held with a view to reaching this agreement at the meeting of Trump and Xi Jinping at the APEC summit in mid-November.
The real problems (theft of intellectual property, subsidies for Chinese state-owned companies etc.) remain unsolved.
