Trade war: “Deal is close”! Video outlook (german)

And once again new optimism about the trade war: Larry Kudlow told reporters that a deal was close (“it’s close, but not done yet”). This is reminiscent of Kudlow’s countless statements in the past. All of which failed to materialise. There has been no deal to date. But the markets (or rather the Algos) are once again jumping at the news. The US futures are therefore higher today. But the reality is: they can’t even agree on the amount of US agricultural products China should buy! Far from an agreement. They are also far from an agreement on the question of unwinding tariffs. Today the focus is on US retail sales with the question of whether the US consumer is really doing as well as claimed…
