German Consumer prices in December +1.7%, food +3.0%

German consumer prices are increasing by 1.7% in December, as currently published in a flash estimate by the Federal Statistical Office. The estimates were 1.5%, (1.8% in November).

The “Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices” (HICP), which is more important and always slightly different for ECB purposes, stands at 1.6%. The estimate was 1.4%.

Food prices are going up with +3.0%!
